epiphanies 25 (there is a lot going on)

Events at 3 months (ish).
Let's see... We asked Megan and Danielle to be Sage's guardians if we like die or something. They have agreed. Greg just wrote them a fab letter to add to their adoption portfolio since they are going for squirt #2, I cried each time I proofed it (that was my part). This is Megan and Danielle (and Greg) at Chip and Leah's wedding (Sage in attendance) first time we took an Argosy dinner cruise or go to the Aquarium since the remodel-splendid (that's not just because it's kid friendly).

We had a visit from Julie our Canadian girlfriend from the "Korea years".

Her sister, Amy, in red below, now (it's been a couple years) lives here and Julie's visit brought together preacher Ron, who we should see more often than we do and reunited us with Diane (not pictured) with her not so new hubby and daughter.

We went out for Korean at Old Village then the following Thursday did the Pioneer Square art walk which was a hoot, spent all our time in Lucien's building which has like 50 studios (or less) but hundreds of hipsters (or more).
Lucien brought Greg's movie inspired ideas to life in the portraits below...

You know deliverance-ish then 2010.

One of the nap scenarios with Corol and Rex. She does not turn over yet so this issss safe enough for now. Naps are now 45 minutes about every 3 hours, Bedtime lasts about 5 hours with a 3am wakeup for milk then back to sleep until 7am. Greg takes charge of the 3am wakeup call, I am glad he quit his job for this reason.

A new addition to her nursery wall, she loves it. This will be the last you see of her in cloth diapers we just gave up the service after 3 months. It was inefficient really, the covers were so stinky after 1 or 2 sessions that we would burn through 3 covers a day needing to wash daily then really end up using the cloth diapers as our burp cloths. It was like we had a burp cloth service which is pretty decadent for a single income family.

Sage all squishy, sticky and cute.

I hear Greg upstairs with what seems to be a starving baby but we incorporated 1 or 2 feedings of formula per day because pretty much on her 3month Birthday she was demanding double quantity and possibly my body could have kept up but I spend enough time at a pump or having her attached. There was this intense pressure to produce so instead of fighting (yeah we were fighting over it for some reason) we just added in formula whenever there wasn't enough fresh stuff on hand. Which makes things real chill.
Also more chill...I was planning to quit my client on Monday because I am severely stressed out (you know the tears every day and sleepless nights) but I think we have it figured out instead. Basically I was doing 4 people's jobs and I forgot I am a contractor so number one his life does not need to come before mine and two I don't have to do things I don't know how to do (I feel like an ass) or want to do. He just bought 4 new buildings so there has been some growth in the last few months. Plus I don't want to manage buildings (I like projects, they end) or be responsible for millions of dollars in the long run aka I will be hiring a bookkeeper and property manager. It's half my fault I don't know how to stop until I crash.

These pix are from this morning. It is the first day she is dressed like a girly girl. I think we will never need to buy clothing for her, the hand me downs just keep on coming. Tube socks and a dress what could be better. The photo I want Lucien to take for us is a revisit to how I grew up. My Mom made all of our formal aka church clothing which meant my Sister and I were dressed like twins, my Mom in and adult version of the dress and my Dad had a matching bow tie or vest, something like that...
Since Sage came about I have been inspired, to start sewing again. I use to make all of my clothing in college so I am fairly equipped to jump back in. Although back then I would use whatever material I could find and cut corners on the finishing work. These days I have been introduced to fabrics by designers such as Amy Butler. Basically it cost me $50 in materials and a day to make the top skirt from this "martini" fabric. Need I say I am very happy not to have gone to a fabric store but can buy all online. So this is what I completed when Greg went to documentary film camp at Smoke Farm last weekend. I have remnants so one of these days I will make Sage some clothes (I promise not to make us matching outfits though, except for the photo).

We all went out to Smoke Farm the other weekend for the Interstitial Heroes Arts Festival and so glad we did. Great performances and great use of the plexi glass walls we left there from the Render Me Dead production by a shadow puppet troupe. But the best for me was Seth Caswell from Stumbling Goat Bistro provided an organic dinner where the hundred? of us sat at long tables in the fields provided with a 4 course dinner intermixed with poetry and story telling.
I also ran into a gal I had a chat with while we fed our babes at a (concrete) park in Ballard. I introduce myself and baby Sage then she tells me her hubby is in the band of the same name performing that evening...it's a small world after all...

Sage also started to smile a few weeks back, absolutely tickles your tummy. I can't wait for the laugh; she's jumped into the babbling so it must be coming soon.
So much more to say but I really should do something with this day; I am just happy to download my camera... Plus I am so sick of using Caps.
