productions 04 (render me dead-film shoot-bar scene-at 74th street ale house)
here he is....jeff reich, he opened up his beautiful bar to us (the 74th street ale house) at 6am till 11am on sunday, during their prep hours, to shoot "the bar scene".

a lot of kitchen aid and cooler background noise, which could/should make editing a chore but on the other hand it was "real". greg really likes one long take so if there is a pure one, it'll be perfect.

jeff in his cameo role.

stand-in for the real stuff.

mike and joey setting the white balance.

greg setting up the shot.

ditto.

the arm cast from the weekend before was easily slid off, after tearing the finger hole and easily put back together, with some extra plaster tape.

the scene: toshi comes into the bar looking for ben (who was supposedly on an early dog walk) to convince him to try to get roger out of the clink; cuz "he did everything possible to incriminate him". if editing goes this route, we already know toshi killed deanna to keep roger, her "printer", to herself aka she is an intense artist po'd that roger was being led in deanna's commercial direction. so... she convinces ben to become a detective. the short film ends here but the feature length is an hilarious bumbling detective tale. ben's backstory is that the night of the party he quit his job as a film critic (why he is so licored up) so has been out of sorts for a couple days with nothing to do.

the dog, patsy, adorably drinks a cocktail at the bar.

patsy the bartender (yes, yes, same name as the dog) with body double/boom operator, kyle.

the penguin is the dog's stand-in, aka same height.

beezie aka patsy with trainer jordan from www.reel-dogs.com (under construction).

thanks to mike for making the beezie/patsy stool.

you don't end up seeing the patsy stool in frame.

kat as toshi.

robert as ben.

si as patsy.

shooting is done-time to rip!
