productions 01 (day 1-party scene-render me dead-film shoot-at the borlands)

whooa.... what a weekend. the borlands graciously left town for the weekend and surrendered their lovely home to frenettik production's cast and crew for the making of, render me dead.
the producers, greg (director and writer) and joey (directory of photography).

skot took over "kraft services" for the director's dinner to kick off the weekend with the new cast and crew of 15ct. this was after starting the morning with greg and i, by bringing over all of our furniture and moving the contents of the borlands house "around".

"the director's dinner."

joey setting up as dp for the "party scene".

mike, who worked on the lights all weekend and has been on the production since probably last year when we first sat down with him, his wife viv, our buddy ron and greg and i to do an official
read through of the full length script (ofcourse after numerous edits prior and this project is just a 20 min short starting from the top of the render me dead script).

the gorgeous view of puget sound that we probably won't see during the party scene but definately through the windows the next morning during saturday's shoot.

okay that's me on the ground with the field monitor, always looking as lovely as i can on film (blaak) as well as being covered in liquid from the slammin' of the shot glass scene; which happened over my head on to ben's tray.

julea came in friday and sunday to work and hair (this is darlene who is playing the role of birdie).

kat as toshi.

melissa as deanna.

jayson as roger.

that's kyle, holding the boom.

the cast getting blocking direction.

maggie as amber and kevin as jasper.

robert as ben.

thrilling part of the very long cold evening actually happened the next cold night with our stunt crew.
ben the protagonist, above, is drunkily toasting away the shots on his tray and falls backwards off the porch railing about 20ft.

the stunt crew setting up the box base landing for our stunt man, will, who will be standing in for robert/ben.

they decided to only use one level of the boxes, we were planning for 3 and had bought loads of boxes to do the stunt over and over but it was captured beautifullly on film after 2.

will getting set with his tray of shot glasses, for the fall.

first take had loads of extra light on the scene, as to not miss a thing.

perfect landing with his shot glass still in hand.

second take with a blue filter aka more like real night lighting. another great fall but about 2 inches away from missing the landing and you could hear all the air squishing out of his body as he hit the ground through the boxes. soooo the crew thought we had tested fate quite enough. will was definately up for more. only 6 boxes destroyed! (releases all signed)

"i seemed to have spilled my drink."
