frenettik 39 (polaroid image transfers/custom/client/slides)
chris o, one of my favorite clients, has just picked up her latest custom project.
she brought over a select group of her slides to have me make prints via the polaroid image transfer process.
i sell my prints but i have never done this for anyone else. sort of a strange process because you have a different relationship with the slide, when it is your own picture. so... sometimes i had this dread feeling that her slide was so much better than my transferred print, would she be satisfied? etc... but, once i plopped them into mats they came to life for me too.
i wanted to compare the experience so i pulled out some of my slides to transfer yesterday and to my relief i went through the same agony; until a select few made it into frames.
since i had a "sponsor" i decided to finally research and upgrade my system. i have used a vivitar instant slide printer for yrs but i also own a daylab 200 which needed an adapter and 3by4 polaroid 669 base.
the daylab system is unique cuz i can now focus, add filtration, crop and i also have the 8by10 and 5by7 enlarging base to print regular b&w or color pictures at home. it comes with all the barbie sized print development accessories and i still own everything i needed to develope film aka kpre digi yrs.
since my daylab is up and running i now have vivitar for sale. anyone want to play? $50 obo.
