interior design 18 (wool sweater/pillow/panasonic NI-L45NR cordless iron/numb arms/nijo sushi restaurant/portage bay cafe)

look what i made. not the arts & crafts - mission rocking chair (although i did restore it back in college) but the pillow. i used 3 old wool sweaters (felted them first aka hot washed and dried) i was about to ditch. i started a second one from solids but after 8+ hrs of labor for this one; it really came down to my time being more important so i packed up!

there is just tons of labor associated with reusing materials (aka my stair project and i also finally refinished my oak railing which after 2 cans of chem. pt remover , i should have just gone and bought a new one) then sort of crazy quilting it all together; ridiculous for a pillow i could buy for $40+. but... he's cute and comfy (i used a down pillow insert).
my inspiration was probably my new cordless iron by panasonic-changes everything. now i wake and actually want to iron my clothes cuz it makes fabric feel so good.

i also needed a way to give my body a break although sewing positions are just as uncomfy as everything else. my arms and hands have been numb every morning i wake, for about a month now. i thought it was the stair project but now it is even happening mid-day so off to a dr. (in like 2 yrs) tomorrow. dread, but i am hoping to get a prescription for massage so that will make it worth the invasion.

ate at nijo sushi on friday with kc and drew. kc treated, so it was almost like the best night of my life (they did do some weird squirting action on some rolls that looked like mustard and ketchup quite unappealing (although the place was sultry) but the food was delish; especially the lobster roll.
sunday we brunched at portage bay cafe with laura, dave and emmett. mmm mmm wonderful crab cake bennie, loved the home fries and it was a cheery environment. ps make reservations.
