interior design 13 (front room/framing/xi'an/china/farmer painting/note to self)

this is the trad. farmer's painting that i mentioned picking up in xi'an.
made the frame in my
standard shadow box-ish way and mounted it in a lime handmade paper window. (photographed at angle to get rid of flash glare but it's actually square)

had a bit of paint chaos (cuz i really wanted to finish that eve.) which ended well but it was desperate for a couple hours as i kept overapplying paint (before giving it a chance to dry aka furthering my troubles).
front room-east wall
started with flat black, ran out then went to the hammered black but it was like a motorcycle. i then went for a layer of hammered gold but that was too flashy then i finished with a hammered bronze.
spray paints -easy clean up- i had on hand for when i repainted all my furnace ducts silver and heat vents silver, gold or bronze- based on metals in ea. room.
front room-south wall
typically i would use a stain or flat black but the navy blue background just wasn't working with it. the painting had the gold and bronze in there and you can see the dif. pt. layers through the hammered finish so it's kinda groovy.
front room-west wall
important reminder to self. make frame then cut glass, not other way around. i think i already knew this but i broke the rule and pd. for it with my time.
