interior design 11 (framing/objects)

a little catch up for this past week-end.
dinner at bick's (been alot, it's good) thursday to celebrate mike & viv's new home!!! a well deserved congratulations & can't wait to see their fixes which are slated prior to move in, in december. they have a unique situation where the entire huge home has panelling covering most surfaces but... all removeable & updateable. they are only 20 blocks away so my very first neighbors that i love!
tony & steve came saturday & got some mud on our studio walls but it's going to be a long process cuz neither can come for the next 2 weeks. but i guess...what's the rush- my sanity is already gone.
friday met up with don & tricia for some thai (forgot the name but it's a big ornate building that i have missed for a yr. in wallingford (so so). then we had tix to uw vs usc to watch women's volleyball. a skillfully played game (for all i know) but it was a load of fun.
also the first time to do a couple's thing with them since we usually play vball as a grp or mt up with don for poker tournies.
which was sunday but both greg and i lost so nothing to go on about. chris zombro won but i do believe he only wins at our table so he needs to send julie next time.
saturday we were invited over for a wonton making eve c/o kara & patrick (i love it when i get cooked for too)mike & viv there as well. great food & i loved the combo of people (& kids but they hit the hay).
i never like to do this but we were given the a-ok to head out at 10pm to help celebrate chris znack's 30th at the corner pocket (west seattle).
over the weekend i had been working on some frames for the bedroom to house some collectibles & was able to finish up sunday before the tournie.
these fotos don't do my new digi-slr justice but expect more and more depth of field & 8mp of madness (once i learn all the buttons & now that ron has reminded me there is such a thing as a focus ring).
this was a hand-sewn flower thing that i fell in love with & removed from a vintage dress.
antique coin pouches, found in peru
embroidered/beaded swatch found in thailand
all affixed to dyed sheets of paper daphne.
now my bedroom decor is complete (nah, but i did get a couple more shelves so all my peruvian textiles are out, rolled, stacked & happy).
