frenettik 23 (custom guestbook/R.F.T.C)

sean o in australia was looking for someone who could design a book that would incorporate R.F.T.C.'s band logo in metal.
my work isn't...rugged/punk but i did my best to mesh by choosing things like interior pages made from recycled blue jeans etc...
i loved this op cuz i was able to dust off my metal shop tools and handsaw this little rocket.

it's the san diego band's final (sold out) gig (16yrs) and i know he has enough room for over a thousand folks to leave comments. it's gonna be a long guest book line but i do hope he gets it filled up.

i usually leave the posts showing on the exterior cover but after awhile when the book has too many pages they don't stay flipped over (which bugs me).

so... i played with the back cover posts and made it so they too were hidden on the interior and that made it so the 40ish pages all flip over easily and comfortable to write on both sides.

i hand score each page 3-4 times so they will flip and lay nicely by the time you get to the back of the book but that takes me 3-4 times as long to make.

this may be a great shortcut. i still scored his pages 3-4 times so my next book i will need to try it with just one.
